Aodai tailors in Hanoi have a close connection to Trach Xa village(Hoa Lam, Ung Hoa province, HaNoi). Boys from this area train from a young age (10-12 years old), they then move to HaNoi to open their own shop on Kham Thien Cau Go, Hang Bong or the busy and populated Luong Van Can Street.

The aodai industry of HaNoi had its golden age with 20 tailor shops on Luong Van Can street, which is less than 1km long. In 1980s, the popularity of the Aodai declined due to the influence of Western Fashon, so many shops had to close down.

Nowadays, it is not only the Vietnamese but also the foreigners that respect the beauty of an Aodai.
